What is Dysport?
Another neuromodulator, Dysport works like Botox to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe wrinkles. Very small amounts of Botox or Dysport will be injected with a very fine needle under the skin into the muscles that cause the wrinkles to form. The number of injections needed will depend on several factors. As with any injection, there may be some slight discomfort, most patients report that the treatment was virtually pain free and that it feels like a pinch. For more sensitive patients, a topical anesthetic may be used.
There is little to no downtime and you should be able to resume most normal daily activities after your procedure. Some people do experience some minor bruising, minor redness or localized swelling. Our injectable fillers are made from FDA approved hyaluronic acid gels. This substance is similar to what is naturally occurring in the skin. Hyaluronic acid absorbs water within our skin, creating hydration, volume and lift. As we age, hyaluronic acid decreases, creating lines and wrinkles which these smooth gel fillers are very adaptable and may be used in other areas, as well. The areas that are most commonly treated are marionette lines, jowls, lips, “smokers lines” on the upper lip, cheeks and acne scars. Though fillers are very adaptable and may be used in other areas.
Your treatment will be performed by one of our experienced registered nurses. After your consultation, you will be treated with a topical anesthetic and/or ice pack. In addition, many of our fillers contain an anesthetic within them.
The treatment will take approximately 30 minutes but may take longer depending the area(s) and how much filler is being injected. Different treatment areas may require different fillers therefore you may notice us using multiple products.
Filler results are generally seen immediately and last from six months to a year depending on a variety of circumstances.
